DeLange announces 2024 tour
Dutch composer and pianist DeLange has announced his 2024 tour, where he will share his distinctive piano music with the audience. His unique approach to music, rooted in his rare chromesthesia (seeing colors and shapes when hearing sounds), produces compositions akin to painted music: vibrant landscapes with melody as the main subject.
Growing up in a musical family, DeLange’s love for music was kindled at a young age, nurtured by the timeless compositions of masters such as Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Debussy. As a pianist and composer, his journey through the musical world is characterized by a desire to express his own emotions and life experiences, leading to the birth of his own compositions.
After a series of albums and EPs, including “Images” (2020), “Contemplations ~ Opus I & II” (2022), and “Miniatures” (2023), DeLange has gathered over 30 million streams worldwide, becoming a respected figure in the neo-classical music scene. His most recent release, “La Présence d’un Rêve,” combines piano and horn quartet and was enthusiastically received. He recently debuted with this horn quartet in a sold-out Kleine Zaal of Het Concertgebouw.
DeLange’s 2024 tour promises to be a special experience, with his compositions and piano playing taking the audience on an emotional journey. He intersperses his music with short stories about how the compositions originated.
