Lambert presents new album featuring Dutch guitar player Robin Scherpen
Last Friday, the Berlin-based pianist Lambert released his new album under the label Mercury KX. The album, titled Actually Good, is a stunning record characterized by tension and elegance, with rolling piano arpeggios, serene strings, and staccato synths.
What makes it particularly special is the contribution of Robin Scherpen on the track The Others. The guitarist and pianist met after a performance at Hedon in Zwolle, and they quickly clicked. Scherpen played as the opening act for Lambert at venues like the Concertgebouw and TivoliVredenburg, where the idea for a collaboration was born. “It’s fantastic to collaborate with someone you’ve known for a while but have no visual image of. The fact that we also share such a strong musical connection is truly amazing,” said Scherpen.
Additionally, the guitarist will release his first single, A Long Way from the Past, this coming Friday from his second solo album, Verge of Light, which is set to be released at the end of January.

Lambert is today an enigmatic star of Europe’s neo-classical scene, sustaining an impish mystique since condemning his given name to obscurity and donning an ever present, horned Sardinian mask in 2014.
