Robin Scherpen
Classical guitarist Robin Scherpen’s journey is one of overcoming darkness and discovering light. Hindered by an eye condition, a successful surgery led him to a period of introspective composition in a dark room. The result: the album ‘For The Unseen,’ symbolizing his emergence from adversity.
Initially exploring South American music, Scherpen transitioned to composing, relying on intuition and ultimate freedom. Despite a visually challenging period, he laid the foundation for his album during lockdown. The track “Son” is dedicated to his 2-year-old son.
‘For The Unseen’ is not just an album; it’s a tribute to a closed-off period and an exploration of the freedom found in composing from the heart without visual distractions. Scherpen invites listeners to close their eyes, enhancing the relatability of his inspiring journey from darkness to light.
