Ólafur Arnalds

Ólafur Arnalds, born on November 3, 1986, in Iceland, is a prominent composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer known for his genre-blending music. Starting as a metal drummer, he transitioned to neo-classical music. His debut album, “Eulogy for Evolution” (2007), marked his entry into the neo-classical scene. Arnalds gained wider acclaim for his film and TV soundtracks, including “Broadchurch.” He formed the experimental techno duo Kiasmos and collaborated with artists like Nils Frahm. Known for innovation, he introduced custom software in “re:member” (2018). His Grammy-nominated album “some kind of peace” (2020) showcased diverse collaborations. Arnalds continues to contribute to the music world, recently composing the soundtrack for the 2022 miniseries “Surface.”
