Just confirmed: Ambitus Theater Series, GUIDO, Nite Kite

New shows that are added to the calender:

Douwe Eisenga

Another Month, Another Year

On the steady passing of time. In September 2025, a new album by composer-pianist Douwe Eisenga will be released, with the working title Another Month, Another Year. Starting in January 2025, a new single from the album will be released each month on streaming platforms.

The album features nine new pieces. The piano takes center stage, subtly enveloped in atmospheric electronics. In live performances, the composer of the immensely popular piano piece For Mattia plays the solo piano versions of these new compositions, complemented by highlights from previous albums.

Frerick den Haan

Solo Piano

In a time when the world is on fire, polarization divides us more than ever, and burnouts are all around, Frerick den Haan brings order to the chaos with his stylistic piano compositions.

His music featured in the most popular Spotify and Apple Music playlists for instrumental piano music, was used in the short animated film L’Étranger, and was recently curated on the BBC’s classical station by none other than Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery.

The platform 3voor12 praised his work, naming him one of the major surprises of 2023 from The Hague’s music scene, describing his music as “a moment for everyone to enter a state of hyperfocus.” The international platform Bandcamp also wrote about his debut album NOIR, calling it: “Calming and peaceful, Frerick den Haan’s composition explores the grandeur found in quietude.”

Expect a show filled with surprising solo piano music, interwoven with personal stories behind the compositions.

AMIMEA

Trails

Pianist and composer Merit Visser, known as AMIMEA, performs her new album during the Trails theatre tour. In love with the wilderness and the unknown, she often ventures into the mountains alone, encountering new places, new people — and often, herself. The many stories and encounters that emerged from these journeys inspired her new album, which she brings to life during the Trails tour.

Always curious to push her own musical boundaries, she enriches her solo piano pieces with electronics and subtle vocals. With Trails, she takes the audience along the winding paths of the mountains.

Ron Adelaar

Reflections

“I start playing purely by feeling and let my intuition guide me from the very first notes on the piano, which naturally leads to the birth of a new musical piece.”

Improvisation—the art of conjuring something out of nothing—is Ron Adelaar’s favorite way to compose. He has cultivated this approach since his early years, beginning with playing organ and piano in churches in his hometown of Amersfoort at the age of 13.

Born in 1960, Ron Adelaar effortlessly translates a wide range of emotions and experiences into music, drawing inspiration from life itself, human relationships, and the wonders of nature.

How he is able to so easily express his feelings through music remains a mystery even to Ron, but the melodies he creates speak a universal language that goes beyond words. These improvisations are at the heart of his performances in theaters across the Netherlands.

GUIDO

Dutch pianist and composer Guido Heeneman has been creating music for TV series, films, and documentaries for years — he recently won a BUMA Award for Krabbé Zoekt Picasso. Under the name GUIDO, he releases neo-classical works that sit comfortably alongside the likes of Ólafur Arnalds, Joep Beving, and Einaudi, yet are marked by a distinctive style all his own.

On March 21, GUIDO released his third solo album Family Stories Part II, which, together with Part I, forms the heart of this concert. Expect an evening filled with enchanting and cinematic piano music that captivates the senses and transports you to another world.

Nite Kite

PopMonument Oss

PopMonument offers a unique blend of music and heritage. Historic locations in Oss — such as Museum Jan Cunen, the Schuilkelder, Het Ont-moet Centrum, and the monumental Groene Engel building — serve as the backdrop for special performances by both well-known artists and local talent. We are happy to announce that Belgium artist Nite Kite will make his presence at this festival. With his piano, synths, and a background rooted in jazz, techno, and classical music, multi-instrumentalist Dieter Boels draws you into the immersive universe of Nite Kite.
